Day 8 Fort William to Luss

Today we decided to have a half day off. I just couldn't face the climb through Glencoe to decided to wimp out and we boarded the West Highland railway for a 35 mile cheat to Crianlarich. I have to admit here that left on his own Neil would have done it. The railway journey goes through some magnificent country and being a pleasant sunny day we saw it at it's finest.

Loch Lomond Cycle Path

Left the train at Crianlarich and after a quick soup and sandwich at the Best Western set off downhill towards our destination of Luss 25 miles away. fabulous trip, first very fast ride on the road along the Loch to Tarbet then joiined the Loch Lomond cycle path alongside the road right on the edge of the loch, superb! Lovely views, no traffic and extremely pretty. Loved it.

Loch Lomond Beach

It feels like a real holiday as we are booked into a posh hotel The Loch Lomond  Arms, sheer luxury! Our bikes had the poshest resting place ever. delicious food, comfy room, nothing to grouse about.
